ICS film series
Industrial Connectivity Services (ICS) from Siemens Digital Industries handle the digitalisation of mission-critical machines. Because these machines are vital for operations, many customers are understandably reluctant to make changes. But digitalisation delivers real benefits—especially when it comes to productivity and reliability. That’s precisely why trust is key in this context.
what was the brief?
“Never change a running system” – and now you’re bringing digitalisation into the mix? No wonder many customers are hesitant; they often don’t know what’s coming their way. Before you can really highlight the upsides of digitalisation, you need to tackle some communication hurdles first. That’s where a video was meant to help. In our chat with the client, though, it quickly became clear: a video series would be even better – starting with an ‘icebreaker’ to build trust, followed by three deep dives to explain the tech.
how we made it shine
Why not show that the Siemens DI team doesn’t know everything – but instead works together with customers, step by step? That’s the core idea behind the icebreaker video – it opens with the DI team struggling to sum up their own work, Industrial Connectivity Services (ICS), in just five sentences. The full explanation follows straight afterwards – immediately spelling out the advantages of digitalisation along the way. In the end, the team boils ICS down to three sentences. The deep dives then take things a step further – giving customers a clear idea of what to expect. Once again, the information is shared from the personal perspective of individual team members.
the real highlight
Filming took place at three different Siemens sites. You can sense the relaxed – and genuinely open – atmosphere in every film. That’s exactly what makes it easy for customers to drop their guard and turn to the so-called experts with any question – no matter how simple it might seem. After all, nobody knows everything. The films – deep dives included – show team members at work: authentic, creative and approachable. This not only builds trust in the people, but also in their expertise.
